We look forward to welcoming you any time after 4pm.
When is check-out?
Checkout is anytime before 11am. In order for our Housekeeping Team to fully clean and sanitize rooms, we are not accommodating late check-out requests at this time.
Does the hotel have parking?
The hotel has a limited amount of parking. We can accommodate one car per reservation for a daily fee that varies seasonally, $28 dollars per day. Limited spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please remember that we can only accommodate one vehicle per reservation.
Are taxes and fees included in my reservation?
All reservations include a daily amenity fee of $42, a local occupancy tax, state tourism tax, and a local tourism tax.
The daily amenity fee includes our petit breakfast, welcome water, in-room coffee and tea, beach and pool valet, beach cruisers, high speed WiFi, private beach access, and access to seasonal property events* (including but not limited to our annual New Year's Eve celebration, seasonal Sunday beach yoga, and more).
*All events are subject to change and based on availability.
What does the daily amenity fee include?
The daily amenity fee allows us to offer added comforts like our complimentary petit breakfast, beach valet, boogie boards and beach toys, beach cruisers, beach WiFi, access to on-property events, in-room coffee, tea, and water, and more. Hotel Policies
What is your cancellation and change policy?
All bookings from Memorial Day to Labor Day require a deposit to reserve the room, which is equivalent to the price of one room night. While the cancellation policy varies by room type and season, most reservations may be canceled free of charge up to 7 days prior to your arrival, however, any cancellation made within 7 days of your arrival will result in the forfeiture of the guest’s deposit. Are pets allowed?
We’re more than happy to welcome your service animals as part of our commitment to guests with ADA requirements. Any animals that do not qualify under ADA, including emotional support animals, are not allowed.
Is there a minimum stay requirement?
Depending on the season, your stay may require a minimum stay. Please consult the offer and stay dates for more information.
What is the maximum room occupancy?
Our largest rooms accommodate up to 4 adults and 1 child. For specific room occupancy limits, please consult the specific room in question on our rooms page.
Is smoking allowed?
Beach Terrace is a non-smoking property.

What does the beach valet include?
We've got your beach supplies covered with our Beach Valet, currently providing sanitized boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels for your convenience.
What amenities are included with my reservation?
All rooms come equipped with Soul by Apothia toiletries, Illy coffee makers, West Path surf ponchos, mini-fridges, in-room safe, bluetooth speakers, 65" LED TV with streaming features, yoga kit, as well as a pillow and reading menu. Is Beach Terrace located on the beach?
Yes! We are the only hotel in Carlsbad that’s on the beach. Along with your room key, you will be given a key to open the gate to our private beach, which is literally steps from your room.
Is your pool heated?
Yes, we maintain our Shorebreak Pool at a comfortable 83 degrees.
